Psychosis

"Psychosis used to be the most dreaded symptom of psychiatry. It involves the loss of contact with reality, hearing voices, seeing things, having delusions and at times, being paranoid. It can be triggered by substances that a person has eaten or by various illnesses, including depression or bipolar mania, or bipolar depression. If any of these illnesses become bad enough a person can become psychotic. It’s easily reversed in these situations with an antipsychotic medication (s) which have been revolutionized over the past two decades." — Dr. Robert F. Slattery, MD.

The Importance of Balance and Harmony

Dr. Carl Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology, placed emphasis on the importance of balance and harmony, saying that people today rely too much on science and logic — that we all would benefit from integration of spirituality and the appreciation of the unconscious mind. Jung advocated the psychological process of integrating the conscious and unconscious mind, while still maintaining conscious autonomy.
